Stella and Colleen

Colleen Smith, Owner and Operator of J.L. Legacy LLC, has been training dogs for friends and family for many years. She has conducted training classes for area kennels, groomers, The Humane Society as well as at her own facility. She enjoys handling her German Shepherd Dogs in AKC conformation and obedience events. Colleen is a member of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Kennel Club and the German Shepherd Dog Club of America. She is also a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator for the American Kennel Club.



Laura Smith has been working for J.L. Legacy for the past 3 years. She assists in training classes, helps care for our guests and handles our German Shepherd Dogs in conformation events. She also administers J.L. Legacy's website and Facebook pages. She is a member of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Kennel Club.

Albert Smith is a teacher with Prince William County Public Schools. When he is away from the classroom, he can be found here at J.L. Legacy maintaining kennels, walking boarders and participating in training classes. When it comes to our guests, Albert has a kind and gentle manner that is appreciated by dogs large or small, confident or timid.
